About Our Trenchless Sewer Repair Company

Veteran-owned. Founded by John Shaw in 2019. Serving Southeastern Massachusetts from Plympton.

Who We Are

TID Trenchless is a veteran-owned trenchless sewer repair company based in Plympton, Massachusetts. John Shaw, a Marine Corps veteran, founded TID in 2019 after more than 13 years in wastewater infrastructure. We repair sewer pipes from the inside, so homeowners and businesses across Southeastern Massachusetts don't have to deal with torn-up yards, broken driveways, or dug-up floors.

Trenchless work is our focus, not a side service. When you call TID, you get a straight answer from a specialist who has spent his career underground and knows exactly what he's looking at.

Our Story

Why John Got Into This Work

Ask John Shaw why he chose wastewater and trenchless work, and you'll get a short answer:

"It's an expanding industry. I've always enjoyed dirty work."

That's John. No big speeches, just someone who likes hard work and wants to do it right.

A Career Spent Underground

Before starting TID, John spent more than 13 years in wastewater infrastructure. He worked as a foreman on municipal contracts. He was a project manager for a large trenchless manufacturing company. He also trained contractors on how to install trenchless systems.

His training work took him coast to coast, from major cities to small towns in the middle of Nebraska. It also took him overseas to England, Italy, Germany, Austria, Ireland, and the Netherlands. Along the way, one thing stuck with him:

"The impact that trenchless technology has had in restoring underground infrastructure, especially in old, historic cities."

That lesson came home with him. Many homes and buildings in Massachusetts sit on older sewer lines, and trenchless repair is often the best way to fix them without tearing everything up.

Why He Started TID

After years of teaching other companies how to do trenchless work, John decided it was time to do it himself.

"After training businesses on trenchless technology for years, I decided that this might be something I could do myself."

In 2019, he started TID Trenchless to bring that experience straight to homeowners and businesses in Southeastern Massachusetts. When you hire TID, you aren't hiring a company that learned pipe lining last year. You're hiring the person who used to teach it. Meet our sewer repair team and see who's behind every job.

What Does TID Stand For?

TID stands for Take It Deep. The name fits the work. Sewer lines run deep under homes, yards, and streets, and that's where we spend our days.

TID also stands for Trenchless Innovations and Drains. Both names describe what we do: fix the pipes most people never see, without digging up everything above them.

Why We're Different

Plenty of companies offer pipe lining. Here's what sets TID apart:

Trenchless is our specialty.

We're not a general plumbing company that added pipe lining later. Trenchless sewer repair is what we know best, and it's what we built the company around.

The right system for each pipe.

Not every liner works in every pipe. We carry several lining systems, including CIPP, PIP, and SIPP, and we cure liners with ambient, hot water, or UV methods depending on the job.

We take the jobs others walk away from.

Tight spaces, complicated systems, and lines that need careful planning are the jobs we're equipped and trained for.

Trainer-level experience.

Before starting TID, John trained other contractors on trenchless systems across North America and Europe. He brings that same standard to every job we do.

Our Values

These six values have guided TID since day one.

Honesty

We tell you what's really going on with your pipe, even when the answer is a smaller job.

Transparency

We show you what the camera sees and explain our recommendation in plain words.

Diligence

We plan every job carefully and check our work before we call it done.

Promptness

We return calls, show up when we say we will, and keep you updated.

Cleanliness

We treat your property with respect and leave the work area clean.

Professionalism

We do the job like trained specialists, because that's what you're paying for.

The Work We're Proud Of

We're proud of every successful liner we install. Some of our most rewarding work has been on condos, apartments, factories, municipal jobs, and pump station lines. These systems are more complex than a typical home sewer line, and they take a lot of precision and planning to do right.

But the jobs John is proudest of have nothing to do with size.

"Honestly, the ones I'm most proud of are the jobs where we help an elderly person save tens of thousands of dollars, because we refuse to take advantage of people."

That's how we run every job. If a smaller fix is the right fix, that's what we recommend.

And John's favorite part of the work? Seeing a quality liner on the final camera inspection. That video is proof the job was done right, for us and for you. You can see some of our work in our project gallery.
